Bajaj Pulsar AS150, AS200 production halted for BSIV upgrade

Bajaj Auto Limited, leading two wheeler makers in the country rolled out Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 at an aggressive price tag of INR 79,000 and 91,500 respectively back in May 2015. Today the bikes are on sale for a price tag of INR 81,230 and INR 94,780 respectively.

Appealing to sports and adventure loving fraternity, the adventure bikes are no longer in production. Fans need not worry. The bikes are not being discontinued. In fact, both bikes will be re-launched soon, with upgraded engine that will meet BSIV emission norms.

Bajaj Pulsar AS150 (6) acceleration

Both Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and AS200 receive powerful engines and a host of onboard comforts which make the motorcycles an all-rounder, claims the company. Of the two, Pulsar AS150 is the one which more of a completely new offering, while Pulsar AS200 is based on the Pulsar NS200 which has been discontinued from production.

Design wise, both AS200 and AS150 are identical, with a few differences like tyre size and missing rear disc brake. Bajaj Pulsar AS200 is powered by a 199.5cc single cylinder, liquid cooled engine mated to a 6 speed transmission. This engine is capable of 24 bhp peak power t 9,500 rpm and 18.6 Nm peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Bajaj AS150 on the other is powered by a 149.5cc single cylinder air cooled engine mated to a 5 speed gearbox. This engine offers peak power at 16.8 bhp at 9,000 rpm and peak torque of 13 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Features on board the new Adventure Sport series includes perimeter frame, nitrox mono suspension at the rear, DTSi engine, projector headlamp, and liquid cooling (only AS200). Both bikes are available in three colours – Red, Blue and Black.
