Spied on test multiple times, the variants of Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 which were spied till date featured dual channel ABS. This is the first time that spy shots of Pulsar CS400 without ABS has emerged.
Featuring MRF tyres, it is possible that Bajaj Auto will launch two variants of CS400, one with ABS and one without ABS. It is also possible that Bajaj might not launch the ABS version in India, and keep it only for exports.
This strategy will allow the third largest two wheeler maker to keep the launch price of Pulsar CS400 aggressive. We have seen them apply a similar strategy with the existing RS200, which is offered in ABS (single channel) and non ABS variants (It is also to be noted here that export spec Pulsar RS 200 gets dual channel ABS).
Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is powered by a single cylinder 373 liquid cooled Fuel injected 4 stroke engine. It is believed that Bajaj has derived this engine from that of the Duke / RC 390. On board the KTM twins, this engine delivers mind-boggling 44 PS and 35 Nm. Mated to a 6 speed gearbox, top speed is above 160 kmph.
On board the Pulsar CS 400, this engine is believed to be tuned for a more relaxed ride. As the name suggests, Cruiser Sport, export more torque at the lower end of the rpm.
Based on the concept showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, highlights include LED taillights, mono shock rear suspension, split seats, digital speedometer on fuel tank, digital MID, new handle bar and alloys, etc. Price of the new Pulsar is expected to be in the range of INR 1.6 lakh to INR 1.8 lakh.
