First showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, Bajaj Pulsar CS400 is getting closer to launch with each passing day. With Bajaj officials having already confirmed that the launch is scheduled to take place by Sep 2016, flagship Pulsar is undergoing the final test phase.
Spied once again, the new Pulsar CS400 shows us its LED headlight at work. As seen in the image above, it seems that the headlight cluster will be equipped with a halogen lamp in the centre and LED lamps surrounding it, as was the case with the concept (see image below).
Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be launched in the performance motorcycle segment in India. It is expected to be offered in two variants – ABS and non-ABS. The bike on test was seen with a stylish new design, aggressive front-end and sharp headlamp design. Bajaj CS400 sports a split instrument console with one-half mounted on the headlamp console and the other on the fuel tank.
It shares a number of components with RS200 so as to keep prices at affordable levels and is powered by the same engine as seen on KTM Duke 390 and RC390. This engine is a 373cc, 4-valve, single cylinder, liquid cooled offering 43 bhp power and 35 Nm torque mated to a 6-speed transmission. Top speed stands at 160+ kmph while we expect fuel efficiency to stand at 20- 22 kmpl in the city and 25 kmpl on highway.
Pulsar CS400 sports large alloys and innovative headlamp cluster, flat set handlebars and stepped saddle seat along with sculpted tank and body cowls. It gets single drilled disk brakes in front and rear while top end variant will also get Anti-Lock Braking System.
