The Bajaj Pulsar CS400 which is currently in its advanced stages of testing has been confirmed to be launched in the third quarter of 2016 (next quarter). The motorcycle was first previewed in the form of a concept at 2012 the Auto Expo.
Speaking to Economic Times, S Ravikumar, President (Business Development & Assurance), Bajaj Auto, stated that the company will invest INR 575 crores in this financial year. Majority of this investment will be used to launch new products and purchase requisite tooling.
The production version of the top-end Pulsar has a few differences compared to its precursor. The major difference comes in the form of regular telescopic front fork as against the concept’s upside down unit. The contoured single-piece seat has made way for split seats and the exhaust system has been tweaked a bit. Rest of the elements appear to have been carried forward from the concept without any changes.
The Pulsar CS400 (Cruising Sports) sports a semi low-slung stance, LED headlamps and taillights, thick tyres, stylish alloy wheels, fully digital instrument console and so on. The bike is equipped with front and rear disc brakes which will be governed by ABS in the top-end variant.

The powertrain details of the Bajaj Pulsar CS400 are still sketchy but expect the motor to be loosely based on the KTM’s potent 373.2 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill. Bajaj will use its patented triple-spark technology. Transmission will be a 6-speed unit.
