First showcased at 2014 Auto Expo, Bajaj Auto’s first ever motorcycle in the 400 cc segment is scheduled for launch in the July – September period. Currently, the bike is undergoing final test runs.
Ideally suited for leisure biking and long rides, Bajaj Pulsar CS400 could be powered by a modified version of the KTM Duke 390 373.3cc single cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
This engine is estimated to offer 38-40 bhp peak power and 36-38 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 could take around 7 seconds while top speed could stand at 165 kmph. Fuel efficiency is estimated at around 30 kmpl, thanks to Bajaj’s triple spark DTSi technology.
Set to take on the likes of KTM Duke 390, Mahindra Mojo and Honda CBR 250R, Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be seen as a blend of sportiness and style. It is set to attract audience by its stunning design and classy color options. Pulsar CS400 receives a bright halogen headlight and LED tail lamp along with a well-sculpted fuel tank.
Comfortable riding position and stylish alloy wheels fitted with MRF tyres and dual channel ABS disc brakes are its highlights. It also gets a conventional handlebar, new gear indicator and small turn indicators.
Bajaj Pulsar CS400 gets a fully digital instrument console with digital speedometer, fuel gauge and tachometer. It also receives two trip meters, a clock and low fuel /oil/battery indicators. The LCD display is in a blue color for better illumination and adds a touch of class.
Bajaj Pulsar CS400 will be offered in two variants Pulsar CS400 and the Pulsar CS400 ABS. Expect price to start from INR 1.6 lakh.
