Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS launched in India – Price Rs 1.09 Lakh

Bajaj Auto Ltd, the popular two-wheeler company, has finally come up with the ABS model of the Pulsar NS200 streetnaked motorcycle. The NS200 is the cheapest of the new breed of Pulsar motorcycles and sits below the RS200 in the company’s product portfolio. The new Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS has gone on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.09 lakh, which makes it roughly Rs 13,000 costlier than the non-ABS model. There has been no change in the specifications and mileage of the motorcycle. All this means even its top speed remains the same. Here are all the details of the new ABS model of the Pulsar NS 200.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 first launched as the 200 NS way back in 2012. However, it was later discontinued to make room for the AS200. The company re-launched the bike as the NS200 earlier this year. In its reincarnated version, the motorcycle comes with refreshed graphics. Now, finally, the company has even come up with the ABS model.

The new model has gone on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.09 lakh. At this price point, the new ABS model is almost Rs 13,000 costlier than the non-ABS model. While we do feel that merely the inclusion of ABS shouldn’t have resulted into such a steep price hike, we are happy that the NS 200 finally offers this much needed safety feature.

Other than the inclusion of the ABS module, nothing really has changed with the specifications of the motorcycle. Powering this motorcycle is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 199.5cc engine that pumps out a maximum power of 23.5 PS at 9,500 rpm. Peak torque is rated at 18.3 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine comes paired with slick shifting 6-speed manual transmission. Suspension duties are courtesy of conventional twin front forks up front and a Nitrox gas-charged monoshock at the rear. The NS 200 ABS rides on 17-inch wheels shod with 100-section rubber at front and 130-section tyre at the rear. While the front wheel gets a 280 mm twin-calliper disc brake, the rear gets a single-calliper 230 mm disc brake. The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS gets the same single-channel ABS that is found on the RS200 fully-faired sibling.

The NS 200 comes with a fairly powerful engine. Yet, it delivers a pretty high mileage for an engine of its size and power. Thanks to this unit being a fairly modern unit, it is able to churn out a maximum mileage of around 50 KMPL.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS Top Speed

Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 ABS 0-100 kmph

Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 ABS Looks

The new 2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 ABS looks a lot like the 200NS that first came out back in 2012. However, the 2017 model comes with new graphics that make it look a lot fresher and more attractive. We have always liked the way the NS 200 looked and with the graphics and paint scheme upgrades for the 2017 model, the motorcycle looks a lot more flamboyant. It won’t be wrong to say that this bike seems inspired from the CB1000R, which is one of the most recognized streetnakeds out there.

This Pulsar model looks very muscular and impresses with its well-sculpted design. Bits like new design alloy wheels, dual-tone paint job, and an engine cowl make it look so much sportier. Our favourite bit of the design has to be the under-belly exhaust, which lens a really very sporty touch. It won’t be wrong to say that this is one of the sportiest and more muscular offerings in its segment.

Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 ABS Model Rivals

Priced at Rs 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom), the motorcycle goes on to rival some premium 150cc offerings, which are
Yamaha YZF-R15 S
Suzuki Gixxer SF
Honda Hornet CB160R ABS
