After consolidating the sales of Bajaj Pulsar RS200, AS200 and AS150 in India, the automaker is gearing up to introduce the new Pulsar trio in neighboring Nepal. Local media reports that launch is scheduled for August 1 and bookings have commenced already.
The motorcycles will be sold through HH Bajaj, authorized importer and distributor of Bajaj products in the Himalayan nation. With Pulsar RS200, Bajaj is looking to strengthen the brand image in the market rather than going after volumes. The fastest and the most expensive Bajaj motorcycle is expected to be priced at NPR 3.99 lakhs (around INR 2.49 lakhs).
The fully faired motorcycle is powered by a 199.5 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that benefits from electronic fuel injection system. Power and torque figures stand at 24.5 PS and 18.6 Nm respectively. A 6-speed gearbox transmits power.
Pulsar AS200 and AS150 duo created new affordable adventure sports segment in India and aims to do the same in Nepal as well. The bigger engined model is estimated to retail at NPR 2.85 lakhs (around 1.78 lakhs) while the 150 cc variant is expected to carry a price tag of NPR 2.5 lakhs (around INR 1.56 lakhs).
Pulsar AS200 derives its 199.5 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder carbureted engine from Pulsar 200 NS. The motor is good for 23.5 PS and 18.3 Nm of torque when mated to a 6-speed transmission. Pulsar AS150 gets a new 149 cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor which churns out an impressive 17 PS and 13 Nm of torque when paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
