Bajaj reports 21.67 percent sales decline in August 2019. Sales contracted to 1,67,192 units, down from 2,13,453 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales dropped 1.69 percent from 1,70,072 units sold in July 2019.
Bajaj Platina sales decline stands at 2.50 percent, down to 44,774 units from 45,921 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales decline of 14.70 percent sees sales drop from 52,489 units sold the month prior.
CT 100/ CT 110 sales has almost halved at 48.34 percent. Volumes are down at 42,578 units from 82,424 units sold the year earlier. MoM sales grew at 7.17 percent from 39,728 units sold the month earlier.
The major chunk of sales comes from Pulsar series sales. Bajaj introduces its Pulsar 125 variants over the last two months, and sales is reported at 19,858 units for August 2019. Owing to sales dip across the remainder of Pulsar range, Pulsar sales haven’t grown by leaps and bounds despite the launch of 125 series. Total Pulsar sales is reported at 70,562 units, up .73 percent from 70,051 units sold a year earlier. MoM Pulsar sales is up 5.42 percent from 66,937 units sold in July 2019.
Pulsar 150, the series best seller lost 31 percent. Sales reduced to 33,265 units from 48,213 units. MoM sales decline of 26,47 percent saw volumes dip from 45,242 units.
Pulsar 160, 180, and 200 collectively sold 11,407 units. Sales declined 24.74 percent, down from 15,157 units sold a year earlier. MoM sales dropped from 15,976 units, down 28.60 percent. Pulsar 220F sales decline of 9.71 percent equates to sales of 6,032 units, down from 6,681 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales gained 5.47 percent, up from 5,719 units sold a month earlier.
Bajaj Avenger 160 is the only bike to report sales growth. Up 72.30 percent, sales was reported at 4,230 units, up from 2,455 units. MoM sales decline of 5.33 percent saw sales drop from 4,468 units sold in July 2019. Avenger 220 sales is reported at 1,581 units. Sales dropped from 2,331 units at 32.18 percent decline. Mom sales growth of 9.26 percent saw sales grow from 1,447 units sold in July 2019.
Discover 100 sales dropped 67.54 percent. Down too 1,763 units from 5,432 units. MoM sales dipped 21.99 percent from 2,260 units sold the month earlier. Discover 125 sales have contracted to a mere 777 units, down 79.10 percent from 3,717 units sold a year earlier. This is the steepest percentage drop across the brand’s product portfolio. MoM sales decline is reported at 43.70 percent, down from 1,380 units.
Bajaj Dominar sales decline of 17.38 percent saw sales drop to 927 units from 1,122 units sold in August 2018. MoM sales dropped 31.99 percent from 1,363 units sold in July 2019.
