Bajaj V12 launched officially – Price starts from INR 56,283

With the new Bajaj V, the 150cc bike, fashioned out of metal from the INS Vikrant, seeing outstanding success, the company announced the launch of new bike based on the same platform – Bajaj V12. The price of this bike starts from INR 56,283, ex-showroom. Deliveries have already commenced.

The new Bajaj V12 is powered by a 125 cc engine. This engine will be sourced from Bajaj Discover range. In design, Bajaj V12 is same as V15. What differentiates the two is a missing front disc brake, which is not even offered as an option.

The 124.6 cc DTS-i engine from Discover is good to generate 11 PS at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Price of the new Bajaj V12 will be at INR 56,283. Comparatively, the Discover 125 retails at INR 51,095 while the V15 retails at 62,132 (all prices ex-showroom, New Delhi). It stands out from the crowd in its Neo Classic styling, which is largely dominated by a contoured fuel tank.

Speaking about its elder sibling, the V15 – it sports a 149.5cc, single cylinder, 4 stroke, SOHC 2 valve, air cooled DTS-i engine offering peak power of 12 bhp at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 13 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Bajaj V is positioned above the Discover 150.

 Bajaj V

Launched in March 2016, the sales of Bajaj V15 has already crossed the 2 lakh unit mark in just 8 months of launch. Bajaj is expecting a similar response from the V12. In spite of manufacturing 25,000 units per month, Bajaj plans to increase production so as to meet the growing demand. The demand has been such, that it has pushed Bajaj Auto Limited to hike production.

Though the bike offers a unique package, one of the major reason behind its success is the way it has been marketed. Every Bajaj V being sold currently comes with a piece of metal from INS Vikrant, the iconic Indian warship. This is also the reason why the bike has been named ‘V’. So along with a motorcycle, you also get to keep a part of proud history.
