Bajaj V15 commuter bike has taken the two wheeler motorcycle market by surprise. With monthly sales now touching 25,000 mark, Bajaj’s so called Invincible bike will soon be offered in a new colour option.
Yet to be officially announced, Bajaj V15 was spied in a blood red colour scheme at a dealership in Karnataka. As per the dealer, the name of this colour in Bajaj-speak is Cocktail Wine Red.
Featuring a piece of metal sourced from the decommissioned INS Vikrant, India’s first aircraft carrier; Bajaj claims that the V15 is their proudest creation yet. In order to place a piece of INS Vikrant in the V15 sold, Bajaj bought 3 tonnes of scrapped metal from the iconic vessel at a price of INR 1.8 lakh.
Bajaj V15 is the company’s fourth motorcycle brand in the 150cc range. It follows Bajaj Pulsar 150, Bajaj Discover 150 and the Bajaj Avenger 150 Street. Produced from the company’s Pantnagar and Waluj plants, Bajaj V15 priced at INR 63,275.
Bajaj V15 is powered by a 149.5 cc air cooled single cylinder engine with DTS-i technology. The engine is capable of 11.8 bhp power at 7,500 rpm and 13 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm mated to a 5 speed gearbox.
Speaking of sales, Bajaj V15 ranked at 10th spot in April 2016. Sales in April stood at 24,057 units. Bajaj plans to increase production to 1,000 units per day so as to meet growing demand.
