Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL) imports Neo from India

Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL), Honda’s motorcycle business joint venture with Bangladesh Steel & Engineering Corporation (BSEC) began sales of Honda motorcycle products in Bangladesh at the end of December 2013.

Before sales commenced, BHL began local CD80 production in October and are being sold at authorized Honda motorcycle dealers.

Honda_BangladeshBHL has opened 2 authorized Honda motorcycle dealers, one in Tangail and another in Jamalpur. 6 bikes were sold on day 1, including BHL locally produced CD80, and Dream Neo imported from Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd (HMSI). Such exports from HMSI will help establish it as an export hub.

BHL services include sales of service parts, and regular maintenance of motorcycles. Honda looks to increase the number of dealers in Bangladesh.

Honda established Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, a motorcycle production and sales JV in December 2012 to facilitate delivery of good bikes with speed, affordability and low CO2 emissions in Bangladesh where the motorcycle market is expected to grow. BHL’s basic approach is to “start small, grow big.”

BHL’s fundamental belief is “We, BHL associates are dedicated to increasing the satisfaction of Bangladeshi customers to the maximum level by manufacturing and supplying high value 2-wheelers and services far beyond the Bangladeshi customers’ expectation.”

With a population of about 150 million people in Bangladesh, motorcycle sales reached 200,000 units in 2012, and steady growth in the market is expected to continue.
