Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to Jaguar XFR Growler TVC

Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has lent his voice for the new Jaguar advertisement. Jaguar, the fastest growing luxury automotive brand has released a video drawing attention to both power and performance and giving a feeling of being completely alive. This new advertisement follows the Super Bowl commercial starring Tom Hiddleston, Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong wherein the trio upheld the spirit of ‘Its Good to be Bad’.

It is Benedict Cumberbatch’s baritone that has seen him receive an extensive fan base and hence it comes as no surprise that Jaguar has sought this very voice to draw attention to the power and performance of its vehicles over the last few years. Though not featuring along with the three British luminaries in the recent Jaguar campaign, fans of Benedict can now enjoy the actor’s most recent narrative.

The national 30 second TV spot, Growler uses a familiar soundtrack originally created for Jaguar’s “Rendezvous” TV spot. Conducted by Alexandre Desplat, it was recorded by The London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road studios.
Jaguar USA sales growth was up by 33% through February 2014, with XF growth up by 41%.

“The ‘Growler’ spot delivers on the personality of the XF, and reflects Jaguar’s role in the luxury market as the progressive British challenger brand,” said Jeff Curry, Brand Vice President, Jaguar North America. “The commercial makes the strong statement that Jaguar will continue to mark its unique territory in the luxury automotive space.”

Benedict Cumberbatch’s voice is not the only reason for him to have a massive fanbase; it’s mostly his talent to completely transform himself into his various characters and his charming personality; oh, he’s good looking and that certainly doesn’t hurt. He has been doing voice overs for this brand for more than three years; this #GoodToBeBad ad series is not his first voice over for its US subsidiary.
