A set of close-up photographs of new Benelli 750 cc naked sportsbike has been leaked online, giving us a glimpse of what to expect from the Italian sportsbike maker at the upcoming EICMA 2017 in Milan. The new motorcycle is a part of a new product onslaught which started at the 2015 edition of the elite motorcycle show.
Like Royal Enfield, Benelli too aims to capture world leadership in the 250 – 750 cc category but it is taking a completely different route in terms of products and market positioning. The mystery 750 cc Benelli which is codenamed BJ750GS looks like the Ducati monster at a first glance. It does have a few quirky details to differentiate itself from its compatriot such as the body colored headlamp frame.
Other salient design features include an exposed trellis frame, cantilevered tailpiece with heavily contoured single-piece seat, single sided tyre hugger and 2-in-1 exhaust system with a meaty canister. There are only two exhaust down tubes, suggesting that the street fighter could be propelled by an all-new twin-cylinder mill. Power output should be a little more than 100 PS.
The Benelli 750 cc naked sportsbike is equipped with a sturdy looking upside down front telescopic fork, twin front discs, monoshock rear suspension and a single rear disc. We expect the motorcycle to comply with Euro-4 emission norms and come with standard ABS.
DSK-Benelli has lined up a comprehensive model pipeline for India and we don’t see any reason for the company to not add the new product to the future lineup. This year in India, Benelli plans to launch at least three new motorcycles – T135, Tornado 302, and Trek 502.
