Benelli Leoncino Scrambler spied in India again – Launch soon

Benelli has some interesting motorcycles lined up for launch in India, through its local partner DSK Motowheels. One of them is the new Benelli Leoncino Scrambler. The bike was spotted recently near Pune by Facebook page ScoopMeister and DRC (Dombivli Riders Club).

Paying homage to the original Leoncino motorcycle, the new Leoncino is seen in a Scrambler body style. The Leoncino scrambler is packed with several standout design features such as a lean front fender with 3D lion mascot, twin petal discs, projector headlamp with glossy back housing, eccentrically placed instrument console, shiny red paint job with black Benelli badge, cantilevered tailpiece and black finished chassis and cycle parts.

The funky retro classic concept pays tribute to the original Leoncino of yesteryear. The Leoncino Scrambler employs a steel trellis frame suspended by USD fork upfront and monoshock at the rear. Power comes from the same 500 cc twin-cylinder 48 PS motor that also propels the TRK 502. A meaty USD front fork and a rear monoshock take care of suspension duties.

DSK Benelli Leoncino spotted testing in India. 499.6cc twin-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, 47.6PS at 8500rpm, 45Nm torque at 5000rpm, 6-speed, hydraulic clutch, ABS, LED lighting. #dsk #benelli #leoncino

Already on sale in Europe, the Scrambler will make its debut in India later this year, most likely by mid 2018. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Royal Enfield Continental GT, Ducati Scrambler, and so on. Price is expected to be in the range of INR 5 lakhs.
