DSK Benelli announced their partnership and unveiled the first five bikes to be launched, last year. Today, the first lot of motorcycles was launched and commenced sales. This includes Benelli TNT 302, TNT 600i, TNT 600GT, TNT 899 and TNT 1130R, priced between Rs. 2.83 and Rs. 11.81 lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi) respectively.At today’s launch event, DSK Benelli mentioned that the new entry-level model, one of the three showcased at IBW, Benelli TNT 25, will hit the market during 2015 Diwali festive season. The marque also announced today, that by the end of this year, all five bikes that were launched today will receive ABS as standard feature. Currently, none of the bikes have ABS, even as an option.
The newbie set for launch in a few months, DSK Benelli TNT 25, will be powered by 249 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, that will produce 28.16 bhp at 9,800 rpm and 21.61 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm, and will be mated to 6-speed gearbox like the rest of the Benellis.
It is uncertain if the TNT 25 will equip ABS at all if not standard, but it will have disc brakes at both ends, and will be suspended by Benelli branded Up Side Down (USD) front forks and monoshock at the rear. The frame will be exposed like other naked bikes from the Italian moto-maker.
TNT 25 would sit beneath the TNT 302 by a considerable extent in terms of value. Expect TNT 25 to be priced around Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
