Built on a steel trestle, Benelli Tornado 302 is powered by 300 cc Liquid cooled 4-stroke, 4 valve DOHC Inline-2 engine. Mated to a 6-speed transmission, this engine generates maximum power of 35 hp at 12,000 rpm and peak torque of 27 Nm at 9,000 rpm.
Featuring a fully faired body, dimensions of new Benelli 300 cc motorcycle stands at 2157 x 746 x 1146 (L x W x H) mm. It has a wheelbase of 1410 mm and ground clearance of 180 mm.
Based on the already existing TNT 300 platform, front suspension of the new Benelli Tornado 302 is via 41 mm upside down fork 120 mm travel, while rear suspension is via swingarm with 45 mm travel.
Braking is provided by dual discs in the front and a single disc at the rear. The front discs are 260 mm with 4 piston calipers, while rear gets 240 mm with 1 floating piston caliper. Front tyre size is 110/70-ZR17 while rear gets 150/60-ZR17. It has a 14-litre fuel tank while oil capacity is 4 litres.
Already spied on test in India, the new Benelli will be launched in India early next year. Once launched, it will take on the likes of KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R3 and the likes. Expect it to be launched in the range of INR 3.5 lakh.
