Images shared on Bangladeshi Automobile Scenario Facebook page reveals an imported Bentley Flying Spur with a slight twist. This Bentley in question, does not wear the regular Bentley badging, but a 300C Chrysler badging.
It is this Bangladeshi owner’s desperate attempt to save on import duties which are at 400 per cent (as against 125 percent in India).
The Bentley Flying Spur was seen on the streets of Bangladesh sporting badging from the Italian-American automaker which had drawn attention as the man spent a few bucks on Chrysler badging in order to escape paying hefty duties in his imported Bentley.
This high import duty in Bangladesh results in an Audi A4 receiving a price tag of BDT 84 lakhs while the same model in India can be purchased for INR 38 lakhs. The Bentley Flying Spur is priced at INR 3.55 crores in India so its price in Bangladesh is worth considering for saving of 400 percent import duty. (1 Bangladeshi Taka = 0.85 INR)
Bentley Flying Spur is imported into Bangladesh via the CBU route. It is powered by a 6.0 liter W12 engine offering 626 bhp power and 820 Nm torque mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. Its interiors sport a host of driver and passenger conveniences finished in carbon fiber customized in 17 hide colors with contrasting stitching for diamond quilting. It sits on 21” seven spoke wheels with gloss black finish or 21” five spoke directional wheels finished in gloss black or dark tint.
