Bentley Bentayga dashboard clock will set you back by Rs 1.53 crore

Optional Bentley Bentayga dashboard clock Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling

For that sum, you get a dashboard ornament made of gold with diamond decorations. It has a complex self winding mechanism that doesn’t derive power from the car.

There is no doubt that the Bentley Bentayga is engineered for the world’s wealthiest lot but an item on theĀ options list for the SUV could be shockingly expensive even for the target audience. We are talking about the Mulliner Tourbillon dashboard clock made by Breitling which costs almost as much as the vehicle itself!

The special clock is priced at a whopping 150,000 pounds (around Rs 1.53 crore), reports popular auto journalist Chris Harris. Of course we are not clock connoisseurs but considering that the world’s fastest and most exclusive SUV itself is priced at 160,200 pounds (around Rs 1.63 crore), we fail to see the value for money quotient in the dashboard ornament.

So, what is so unearthly about that Mulliner Tourbillon mechanical clock by Breitling to command such an outrageous price? Well, Bentley says that the clock employs the most complex of the watch mechanisms. Every 15 minutes, it winds itself by rotating thrice, using a high-precision winding mechanism that is built into the car (it doesn’t use power from the car).

Bentley Bentayga dashboard clock standard

This is the standard Bentley Bentayga dashboard clock which is also made by Breitling.

It is made in solid gold and customers can choose from either rose or white gold. You can also select between mother-of-pearl or black ebony face. That’s not all, the clock is decorated with 8 diamond indexes within the dial!

It’s to be noted that if you opt to give this optional Bentley Bentayga dashboard watch a miss, you will be getting a standard unit which is also made by Breitling but is relatively less sophisticated.
