Showcased as a concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the SUV is slated for launch in 2016. Already spied testing with minimal camouflage, the new Bentayga could be unveiled at a motor show later this year, after which it will head for production from the company’s factory in Crewe, Cheshire.

Bentley Bentayga is so named from the varied climatic conditions and terrains that this massive SUV will be capable of tackling. ‘Taiga’ is the world’s largest snow forests in the Northern Hemisphere while Roque Bentayga is a rugged peak in the Canary Islands.
Now, as part of marketing and promotion, Bentley has officially revealed a teaser video which gives an idea of what to expect from the interiors of Bentayga. The teaser, titled – We don’t just see technology. We feel it’, shows how Bentley has designed the interiors inspired from natural terrains. Features that are noted from this teaser, includes touch button for start/stop, head up display, full LED instrument cluster with night vision, different modes for different terrains, chrome rings on centre console knobs, leather wrapped steering wheel and dashboard.
Speaking about engine, Bentley Bentayga could be fitted with a new generation 6.0 liter W12 engine which was unveiled a few days ago by Volkswagen at the Vienna Motor Symposium. This engine will sport start/stop system and cylinder deactivation technology. It is an amalgamation of Audi’s FSI direct injection and Bentley’s TMPI multi point injection.
This engine is capable of 608 PS peak power and 900 Nm torque, while a 0-100 kmph is said to be achieved in less than 4 seconds, while top speed will be over 300 kmph. Apart from this, unconfirmed reports also suggest that it will be offered in a choice of diesel engine as well, making it the first Bentley ever to sport a diesel engine. Launch price of Bentley Bentayga is expected to start from £140,000 (US$ 215,930 or INR 1,38,04,387).
