Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e EV Concept debuts at Geneva Motor Show

Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e EV Concept being shown at 2017 Geneva Motor Show is based on the previous EXP 10 concept which was showcased at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It is so named as ‘EXP’ stands for experimental concept while ‘12’ indicates that this is the 12th concept car, going all the way back to EXP 1 in 1919.

‘Speed 6’ means that this Bentley is smaller and lighter and therefore capable of increased speed while ‘e’ stands for electric as Bentley goes green with this electric concept vehicle.

Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e EV Concept has been designed to show off how Bentley’s electric cars of the future will look like while Bentley is also using this concept to gain feedback from customers on its upcoming electric luxury vehicle.

The convertible sports a large grille with ‘6’ lettering. It gets sculpted doors and a vented bonnet while its front end is dominated by twin headlamps, large alloy wheels and tiny cameras rather than door mirrors. Interiors spell luxury at every turn right front its solid glass center console to a high resolution display screen on its dashboard. The leather encased steering wheel sports a unique design and is devoid of its top section offering a better view of the digital instrument cluster. Two buttons on the top is for performance boost and the other is a power limiter.

Engine specifications have not been revealed but it is slated that the Bentley Concept will use the same engine as seen in Porsche Mission E which sported a 592 bhp engine with four wheel drive allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.5 seconds. Rapid charging can be done with a main AC power supply via the auxiliary charging point situated behind the rear number plate.
