Bentley SUV expected to sell at 3,000 units per year, launch in 2016
The British ultra-luxury carmaker has revealed that potential customers are flocking with expressions of interest on buying the firm’s first-ever SUV ahead of its unveil. According to Wolfgang Duerheimer, head of Bentley Motor Limited, the Bentley SUV will be the most exclusive, most expensive and most luxurious of Sports Utility Vehicles in the world.
Although Bentley SUV is dubbed world’s most expensive, the base variant may not be priced higher than other models from the same brand – Continental GT, Flying Spur and Mulsanne. The SUV could be priced at $214,000 (Rs.1.35 crores approx.).
Rivals of Bentley SUV will include Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG and top-of-the-line Range Rover from JLR. Apart from these, a Rolls Royce SUV could also make it to the rivals list, which is pending decision this year.
Once the ultra-luxury SUV from Bentley goes on sale, the company may start working on a smaller crossover, as the firm has expressed interest in expanding their lineup in coming years.
