Hero MotoCorp, the largest two wheeler manufactures in India, continues to beat competition. It has five of its products on the list of top selling two wheelers.
As per the numbers revealed by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, Hero MotoCorp Splendor, Passion, HF Deluxe, Maestro and Glamour stood in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 8th and 10th positions. Hero MotoCorp top selling Splendor saw total sales of 1,82,286 units in February as compared to 1,89 882 units in February 2014 but still ranked at No.1 spot, 95,927 units of Passion were sold in the last month, again lower than 1,19,235 units sold in February 2014 while HF Deluxe sales stood at 76,885 units down from 87,119 units sold in February 2015.
Honda’s Activa was in 2nd place with 1,77,475 units sold in February 2015 as against 1,54,771 units sold in the same month of the previous year. CB Shine and Dream were also on the list of 10 top sellers in February 2015 positioned at 6th and 9th position respectively. Bajaj Discover which stood at 5th position in February 2014 with a total of 71,683 units sold, failed to make it to the top 10 list in February 2015 with only 19,617 units sold.
Where best selling passenger cars were concerned, Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest automaker saw a total of four of its products on the list. Maruti Suzuki Alto, Swift, DZire and WagonR continued to see increased sales with 25,673 units of Alto, 19,546 units of Swift, 14,533 units of DZire and 14,315 units of WagonR sold during the month. Out of these four products, it was only DZire sales that dipped significantly from 17,049 units sold in the same month of the previous year.
Maruti Celerio was in 7th position in February 2014 with 7,323 units sold. It was down to 10th spot in February 2015 with 6,772 units sold. Hyundai found three of its cars on the top 10 list with Elite i20 in 5th place, Grand i10 in 6th position and the Hyundai Eon in 8th spot.
Mahindra Bolero and Honda Amaze also found mention on the top 10 list of passenger vehicles in February 2015 in 7th and 9th position respectively with Amaze taking the place of Honda City with total sales of 7,163 units.
