The Indian auto industry is going through one of its toughest times in the recent years. Car sales have been on a constant slump, irrespective of the segment and the manufacturer. June 2019 sales data also shows the same, specifically pointing out that even the erstwhile top-performers haven’t been able to match their own sales of previous year. Here is an analysis of the sales of the top-10 performing cars (in terms of sales figures) of June 2019.

Maruti Alto has regained the top spot, back from the Swift. The Alto managed to attract 18,733 buyers while the Swift could get 16,330 takers. It is to be noted that the Swift was the best-selling vehicle in May’19 with overall sales of 17,039 units, however this month, the hatchback has slid down to the second spot.

The best selling sedan of the country continues to be the Maruti Dzire which managed overall sales of 14,868 units in June’19. Overall, the Dzire was the third best-selling car across the country. The Baleno has been a hot-selling hatchback however the car too witnessed degrowth in its sales. The Baleno could gather a total sales of 13,689 units.

The sixth car on the list is Hyundai’s i20, which also happens to be the first non-Maruti vehicle in the tally. The hot-hatch gathered an impressive sales tally of 9,271 units.

Maruti’s Eeco continued to feature itself in the Best selling Top 10 cars June 2019 as well. The people carrier managed sales of 9,265 units in June 2019. One car which clearly has faced the heat due to increased competition is the Maruti Brezza which stood at the eight position with sales of 8,871 units.

The Venue, which is the reason behind Brezza’s downfall gathered total sales of 8,763 units. It also surpassed sales of its elder sibling, the Creta which stood at the 10th position with total sales of 8,334 units. The Grand i10, which has been consistent in the list made way for the Venue this month. However, it might come back in the list once the updated Grand i10 is launched in the near future.
