While slowdown continues to nudge sales south, there’s some improvement, as most of the bestselling cars have registered positive MoM growth in September 2019. Festive mood and attractive schemes announced by car companies appear to have helped improve sales in September. A lot more can be expected in October when festivities reach their peak around the time of Diwali.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire leads the pack, registering sales of 15,662 units in September 2019. This is a 17.99% improvement in MoM sales, even though YoY sales are down -26.46%. Dzire was the top selling car in August 2019 also with 13,274 units sold. At second spot is Maruti Alto with sales of 15,079 units in September 2019.
