Excon 2015, the largest construction equipment exhibition being held at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bengaluru is based on the theme ‘Make in India’. While a host of Indian and global exhibitors are displaying their products, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt Ltd (DICV), through its exclusive brand BharatBenz, has 11 construction and mining trucks on display.
India’s first indigenized mining truck BharatBenz 3143 is also being displayed. This truck is fitted with an OM 457 Mercedes Benz engine with 12 liter capacity and 6 cylinders offering 430 hp peak power. BharatBenz 3143 is offered in two variants of 19.5Cu.M rock body and 32Cu.M coal carrier.
BharatBenz 3143 is a high powered but cost efficient mining truck capable of tacking the most challenging of terrains and highly efficient in deep mining operations. Its ability to manage higher payloads and better fuel efficiency besides lower maintenance costs sets it apart while a large percentage of localization allows for easy available of spares.
DICV has seen sales touch a high of 30,000 units since launch of BharatBenz vehicles in September 2012. India made trucks are exported by the company under the FUSO brand to over 17 global markets which the company wishes to increase to 30 markets by 2018. DICV is also planning to launch BharatBenz vehicles in Nepal in the first quarter of 2016.
