BharatBenz trucks tackle India’s Deadliest Roads

The first expedition with BharatBenz trucks features Actress Mandira Bedi, wrestler Sangram Singh and actor Varun Sharma who take the BharatBenz 1214 R MD IN-POWER across some of the most challenging and treacherous roads in the country.

The celebrity trio drive a BharatBenz Medium Duty Truck 1214R truck for 1500 kms at altitudes of upto 18,000 ft in the tough Himalayan terrain. It is here where the truck has proved its stance in the most severe weather conditions and has been regaled for its ability to conquer the most scenic yet most dangerous roads the country has to offer.

BharatBenz MDT is a complete offering that is feature packed to take on all roads, and especially those that are more difficult than others. Driving on hilly roads comes with its own set of limitations. Fog lamps on the BharatBenz MDT 1214R truck enhance visibility on cloudy roads ensuring a better understanding of driving conditions, and this in turn allows one to drive with dexterity rather than make poor guesses in a foggy and hilly terrain which but obviously slow down the ride.

In ensuring that difficult terrains don’t eat into driving time, the BharatBenz MDT 1214R MD In-Power truck are fitted with radial tyres that facilitate easy cornering and optimise traction on difficult and unpredictable terrains.

Driving through hill terrain is no doubt strenuous and packs in many a bump. Resultantly drivers are fatigued and unable to concentrate on the road for long spans of time which requires them to halt at regular intervals in order to continue the journey. BharatBenz MDT 1214R truck’s spacious and ergonomic cabin ensures drivers can adjust the seat to suit individual driving position and stance, which reduces fatigue. Stress owing to driving conditions is largely reduced as the cabin is designed to provide occupants with comfort. Alongside mitigating driver fatigue, the air-conditioned cabin doesn’t prove to be a strain on fuel efficiency.

BharatBenz 1214R has been designed keeping in mind the demands of the customer. Robust and reliable, the truck’s power and performance can be gauged from the way in which it is seen tackling the roads of Leh-Ladakh, Pangong Lake and Nubra. The trucks are powered by 140 hp engines capable of taking these trucks through the most difficult terrains with ease and guarantee all the power you need to take on elevated roads.

The trucks also boast of improved fuel efficiency, higher service intervals and contemporary styling. An industry first feature seen on the India’s Medium Duty range is the Multi Drive Mode which allows drivers to optimize engine settings for urban or highway driving at the touch of a button. BharatBenz MDT 1214R tech allows one to turn to reliable aggregates through proper data mining based on truck performance. This ensures reliable and predictable data at all times and keeps vehicle breakdown at bay.

The three celebrities, which also included Mandira Bedi as the only female driver, were trained in Chennai and Manali where they took the trucks over varied terrain while they were familiarized with the features on the trucks. ‘IRT- India’s Deadliest Road’ brings to the fore the capabilities of this truck while the show offers edge of the seat entertainment.

The New Bharat Benz MD –In power range of medium duty trucks – 914R, 1214R, 1214RE and 1217C were launched earlier this year and offered in base and premium variants. The range is available in BS-III, BS-IV and Euro-V ready and are on offer at all BharatBenz dealerships across the country.
