2016 BMW 1 Series sedan spy shots show the heavily disguised test mule, borrowing a variety of design cues from the recently unveiled 1 Series facelift (hatchback). While 1 Series hatchback remains the only car in its segment to offer Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration, new 1 Series sedan will be a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) car.This is because BMW 1 Series sedan will be based on the UKL platform that supports 2-Series Active Tourer and 2-Series Gran Tourer. But the lack of Rear Wheel Drive could be compensated with All Wheel Drive (AWD) option on higher variants.
