BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo ‘Shadow Edition’ is powered by a petrol engine
BMW Group India has launched the new BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo ‘Shadow Edition’ in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs.42,50,000. This luxury tourer will be locally assembled at the company’s Chennai plant and offered at all company dealerships across the country.
The new ‘Shadow Edition’ sets itself apart in terms of luxury, sophistication and sportiness. It is based on the M-Sport trim, and is a limited edition. Only a select number of this edition will be sold in India.
Design
Exterior design is same as that of the standard 3er GT. It is seen with frameless windows, LED headlamps with auto high beam assistance and LED tail lamps. It also gets an automatic tailgate, active rear spoiler and LED fog lamps with reflection system. Rain sensors and automatic lights will also be seen on the Gran Turismo which will sit on 18 inch star spoke alloy wheels finished in black.
BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo Shadow Edition will be offered in colour options of Alpine White, Melbourne Red Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic and Estoril Blue Metallic. Its interior upholstery colour schemes include a choice of Sensatec Black/Red highlight, Black and Sensatec Veneto Beige and Veneto Beige.
Interiors
Interiors will get M sport leather wrapped steering wheel, car key with M design, aluminum door sill plates, ambient lighting, a panoramic sun roof and wireless charging. Where connectivity is concerned, the BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo ‘Shadow Edition’ is at its zenith with BMW ConnectedDrive technology. It gets BMW iDrive on-bard driver information system with a 22.3 cm display, BMW Navigation System Professional with Touch functionality, 3D maps integrated Global Positioning System and BMW Apps. Rear view camera, Apple CarPlay, USB/AUX IN and connectivity via Bluetooth will also be a part of its updated technology.
In terms of safety, the Gran Turismo Shadow Edition gets dynamic traction control, dynamic stability control, cornering brake control, side impact protection, run flat tyres, emergency spare wheel, a chargeable key and crash sensor. Multiple airbags, ABS and EBD will be also a part of its safety equipment.
Engine
BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo ‘Shadow Edition’ will be powered by a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo Technology. Power and torque figures will be at 252 hp and 350 Nm respectively at 1,450-4,800 rpm. This engine will be mated to an 8 speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters and will be capable of acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.
