Costliest BMW 7 Series arrives in India – Price INR 2.27 crore

New BMW 7 Series Excellence limited edition will see 100 production units for the world market. The rarity is abundant in exclusive equipment options. The most exclusive, and also the most expensive 7 Series till date, India has received this piece of art. Sadly, only 1 unit will be sold in India, and we are not sure who is going to be the lucky buyer. (Sachin?)

Apart from being the most exclusive 7 Series ever, it is also the most powerful BMW ever. Internationally, the model is offered in a choice of three engine options.

But, in India, the one which we are going to get, is the BMW M760Li xDrive. In case, if you are not the lucky buyer to get hands on the Excellence variant, you can always opt for the M760Li xDrive, as both are priced at INR 2.27 crore, ex-showroom.

BMW M760Li xDrive is powered by a 6.6 liter twin turbo V12 engine offering 600 hp at 5,500 rpm and 800 Nm torque at 1,500 rpm. Also, this is the first ever 7 Series feature the M badge.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.9 seconds while top speed is limited at 250 kmph. For owners who want more speed, the optional M Drivers Package takes top speed a notch higher to 305 kmph. The engine is mated to an 8 speed Steptronic sport transmission.

It offers combined fuel efficiency of 12.6l/100 kms. Fuel consumption (ECE driving cycle), CO2 emission and power consumption vary based on drive and tyre selection. Choice of optional equipment and accessories are wide and varied.

Onboard equipment includes active roll stabilization or Integral Active Steering while where safety features are concerned, the model receives Driving Assistant Plus, lane departure warning, cross traffic alert, active side collision protection and rear collision prevention.

The centennial edition is available in ‘Centennial Blue Metallic’, Merino Smoke White upholstery, Black Piano Finish interior trims and exclusive 100th anniversary badging.

BMW India has also announced achieving over 50% localisation at its Chennai plant, which employs over 500 personnel. Dr. Jochen Stallkamp, Managing Director, BMW Plant Chennai says its been a decade long endavour during which time the company has assembled over 57,000 luxury cars. He congratulated the team on producing cars with more than 50 percent localisation.
