City of Barcelona is now operating a fleet of maxi scooters. The 30 electric powered scooters delivered were BMW C evolution models. The new electric fleet was received at Barcelona City Hall for use by the local police as an efficient and and zero emission mobility solution. BMW C evolution caters to zero-emissions urban mobility.With continuous output of 11K W and max output of 35 KW, BMW C evolution scooter is homologated to be ridden with an A1 or B licence. The model purchased by for police personnel is no different fro the regular version but features modifications to adapt it to police use. It features a raised screen for protection purposes, and a public address and signalling system.
Guenther Seemann, President of BMW Group Spain attended the event and handed over scooter keys to mayor Xavier Trias. Seemann says the fleet delivery is special being the first fleet of electric maxi scooters worldwide to be supplied and this in Barcelona, an European role model in two-wheel mobility. BMW Group looks to solutions of future of urban mobility through cities reporting minimum emissions.
BMW Group’s leasing multi-brand company, Alphabet steps in as administrator of the motorcycle fleet. Rocio Carrascosa, CEO of Alphabet Spain, says the new fleet strengthens a commitment to promote a more sustainable mobility in cities. AlphaCity lets customers rent vehicles and AlphaElectric offers electric vehicle rentals.
