Young racer and wife charred to death as speeding BMW bursts into flames

The racing fraternity in India is in shock while news and video of Ashwin Sundar’s death goes viral on social media.

Ashwin Sundar and his wife Niveditha were charred to death as their BMW car spun out of control hit a tree and burst into flames. The accident occurred at Pattinampakkam in Chennai around 3.30 am on Saturday morning.

Both Ashwin and his wife died on the spot after they failed to get out of the car in time while the car can be seen in flames after it rammed into a tree in the vicinity.

Police have confirmed that the racer was speeding well above the permitted limit. Ashwin is a noted race driver while his wife Niveditha is a doctor at a private hospital in Chennai. Reports suggest that the duo were in the car which was being driven at super fast speed.

The car swerved out of control and dashed into a tree following which it immediately burst into a ball of fire. Both were trapped inside the vehicle after they failed to open the doors. A post mortem examination of the bodies is being conducted at the Royapettah Government Hospital.

Being a race driver, Ashwin should have known the difference between racing on the track as against trying his skills on a public road. It once again draws attention to the dangers of exceeding the speed limit on the road and the danger it causes putting both life and limb to the test both for the driver and passengers.
