BMW G310 is among top 5 BMW motorcycles sold in the world

Global deliveries of BMW Motorrad are up by 0.9% at 165,566 vehicles, up from 164,153 units sold in 2017. The company targets sales of 200,000 units in the year 2020. The sub 500cc segment was among the company’s top five propositions.

BMW Motorrad G310R and G310GS, made at the TVS facility in India, are among the top five BMW motorcycles worldwide. According the the BMW media release, since production began in 2017, 24,363 units of G310R and G310GS models have been made, and delivered globally, including India starting in mid 2018. Back in Dec 2018, company claimed that production of 310R and 310GS had crossed 50k units in India.

For 2018, the company reports significant growth in China, Brazil and India. Sales in China are up at 35 percent at 7,561 BMW motorcycles and scooters sold. In Brazil, sales are up 11 percent at 7,361 units sold. Germany continues to triumph as the company’s strongest market at 23,824 units sold.

In India, with 2,187 units were sold in 2018. BMW India revealed that of these, more than 75 percent sales came from the newly launched G310R and G310GS twins. This means, more than 1,640 units of G310R and G310GS have been sold in India in 2018.

BMW 1250 GS now launched in India

Company outlook for 2019 is positive with sales growth expected. New products from the R 1250 boxer family, new S 1000 R and F 850 GS Adventure which expands the mid-size BMW Motorrad model range. Urban mobility will be catered to with the launch of C 400 X and C 400 GT scooters in global markets.
