BMW G310GS India launch in July, Price exp Rs 3 lakhs – Says Dealer

BMW Motorrad India will launch their two new entry level motorcycles – G310R and G310GS in India by July 2018. Ahead of that, bookings have opened at select dealerships.

Recently, XBHP spotted one of the GS310 bikes being transported on the Bangalore – Chennai highway, near the TVS plant where the bike is manufactured. Now, a member of their forum, has shared interesting details regarding the launch and price.

As per the XBHP member, ashwinbala123, he has booked the bike. His dealer in Chennai has told him that launch is in July 2018. He has also confirmed that the on road price will be in the range of Rs 3.5 to Rs 3.7 lakhs. This could potentially bring the ex-showroom Delhi price in the range of Rs 3 lakhs.

Once launched, it enters the entry level adventure tourer segment in the country. Already being produced at the TVS Motors’ plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, the BMW G310GS will rival the likes of Kawasaki X300 and Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Making India debut earlier this year at the 2018 Auto Expo, features on board the new BMW G310GS are akin to those seen on new F750GS and F850GS. It boasts of an aggressive stance with sporty front mudguard, distinctive headlamps, compact visor and hefty fuel tank. It gets low rider position and a stepped up pillion seat, grab handles, LED tail lamp, lightweight cast aluminum wheels and trip meters.

Receiving a steel trellis frame, the G310GS gets 41mm upside down fork in the front and monoshock at the rear. It front brake includes 1 x 300mm disc, Bybre four-piston radially-mounted caliper and rear brake is 240mm disc, Bybre two-piston caliper.

It sits on 17” alloy wheels fitted with 110/80 R19 Metzeler Tourance tyre in the front and 150/70 R17 Metzeler Tourance tyre at the rear. BMW G310GS gets a 1,420mm long wheelbase, has seat height at 835mm and kerb weight of 169.5 kgs.

Receiving the same engine that powers the BMW G310R, the 310GS is powered by a 313cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 34 PS peak power at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
