BMW G310R to come shod with Michelin tyres

The G310R rivals the likes of KTM Duke 390, Yamaha MT-03 and Kawasaki Z300.

The deliveries of BMW G310R in the European market is set to commence shortly and finer details of the product specs have been trickling down on the net.

Gary Guthrie, president, Two-Wheel Tyre Division, Michelin, recently stated that the company is working with two-wheeler OEMs to co-develop tyres to suit specific models. He also added that the BMW G310R is one of the models that will be equipped with factory fitted Michelin tyres.

Michelin rubbers for G310R are specially developed to suit the bike.

The naked motorcycle which is a part of TVS-BMW technology cooperation agreement has entered production at TVS’ dedicated assembly line in Hosur. As of now, BMW Motorrad will be focussing on supplying the bike to Europe. Launch in India is expected in early 2017 and production is expected to be ramped up by then.

To recap, the BMW G310R is powered by a 313 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is capable of 34 PS and 28 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The naked bike is claimed to hit a top speed of 143 kmph.

The bike will launch in India early 2017.

The bike is equipped with USD front fork and rear monoshock. Front and rear wheels are shod with disc brakes that are governed by standard ABS.
