BMW Motorrad India launched the much awaited G310R and G310GS earlier this year for a price of Rs 3.78 lakhs and Rs 4.35 lakhs on road respectively. The bikes are built by TVS Motor Company at their plant in Hosur.
Many enthusiasts were angry with the pricing. More so because these prices were higher as compared to the prices of the bikes in the USA. Considering that these are made in India, they were expected to be more affordable. But that has not been the case.
In spite of that, the sales of both the bikes got a very good start, and at most dealerships these bikes come with a waiting period. So how is it to maintain these entry level BMW bikes? Well, one owner of G310R has shared the detailed bill of first service. The bill total amounts to over Rs 9,200 with taxes.
BMW running-in check costs Rs 1,793; Cleaning Motorcycle costs Rs 1,569; Engine oil costs Rs 1,996; Chain spray costs Rs 1,462; Chain cleaning costs Rs 1,165. Below is the detailed bill.
BMW G310R is a street naked bike. It is offered in Cosmic Black, Racing Red and Pearl White Metallic color options which it also shares with the G 310 GS. It is seen with a chunky fuel tank, large silencer, alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tyres, comfortable seating offering a raised ride position and raised tail fairings.
BMW G310R gets upside down telescopic forks in the front and adjustable monoshock at the rear while ABS is offered as standard while braking is via 300mm front disc and 240mm rear disc.
2018 BMW G310R and G310GS are both powered by the same engine. This 313cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, 4 valve DOHC engine offers 34 bhp power at 9,500 rpm and 28 NM torque at 7,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission.
