In just six years since its inception, the BMW Chennai Plant has reached a major milestone. The 25,000th car has just rolled off its assembly line and this is what has made the company proud. The company is a major player in the Indian market and during the past six months of this year has already delivered 4,457 units to its customers which only goes to show its growing popularity and major contributor to the auto sector in India.
High quality products, innovative services and strong attraction of customers towards the company products are what have made BMW retain its No.1 position in the country since 2009. All this is at a time when markets are in the midst of an economic slowdown and buyer sentiments are on shaky ground.
BMW, through the past six years has managed to gather momentum along the road to success. In India, the company is headquartered at Gurgaon. BMW India is a 100% subsidiary of BMW Group which carries out a wide range of activities in India.
Besides the plant in Chennai, the company has a warehouse in Mumbai and major dealerships across the country. From the Chennai Plant, BMW produces their 3 Series, 5 Series and X1 models both in diesel and petrol variants. BMW has major expansion plans for 2012 during which the company plans on increasing number of outlets to 40 across all major cities and emerging markets in the country.

BMW Plant Chennai rolled out the 25000th car from its assembly line today.

BMW India has registered retail sales of 4457 cars (delivered to customers) in the calendar year 2012 (January – 550, February – 736, March – 1083, April – 712, May – 626, June – 750).

With 9371 cars delivered to customers in the calendar year 2012, BMW India achieved leadership position in the luxury car segment in India for the third consecutive year.
