BMW India price list 2015 for locally produced cars – Official

BMW India has increased localisation levels to up to 50% at the company plant in Chennai. They have now announced new and reduced prices for many of its models in India.

Sachin Tendulkar, brand ambassador and a BMW fan, helping assemble the first heavily localized BMW car earlier this year.

The BMW new price list will see BMW X5 SUV coming in with the biggest price reduction amounting to INR 4 lakhs while 530d sedan will see price reduced to the extent of INR 2 lakhs. BMW X3 SUV and 3 Series will receive price cuts of INR 1 lakh.

Early this year, BMW announced increased sourcing of various components from local manufacturers. The company also announced increase in cumulative investments in India from INR 390 crores to INR 490 crores with most of this being channelized to the BMW Chennai plant.

Components to be procured locally will include Engine and Transmission from Force Motors, Axles from ZF Hero Chassis, Door Panels and Wiring Harness from Draexlmaier India, Exhaust Systems from Tenneco Automotive India while Heating, Ventilating, Air-conditioning and Cooling Modules will be procured from Valeo India and Mahle Behr while Lear India will supply seats to BMW, Chennai.

2015 BMW X6 will be the next car which will be launched by BMW in India – on 23rd July 2015.

95% of BMW cars in India are produced at the Chennai plant which has capacities to produce 14,000 units per annum. The plant has two assembly lines from where the 1-Series, 3-Series, 3-Series Gran Turismo, 5-Series, 7-Series, X1, X3 and X5 are rolled out.
