BMW M2 Competition launch price Rs 80 lakhs – Most affordable M in India

German luxury carmakers BMW have launched the new M2 Competition in India. Priced at Rs 79,90,000, ex-showroom, the BMW M2 Competition will come in as a completely built up unit and will be on sale across all BMW dealerships with immediate effect. At this price, the M2 Competition high performance sports car is the most affordable M badged car in India.

BMW M2 Competition is presented in color schemes of Alpine White (non-metallic) and metallic paint schemes of Sunset Orange, Hockenheim Silver, Long Beach Blue and Black Sapphire. It is seen with enhanced air inlets, adaptive LED headlights, M wing mirrors, high gloss black kidney grille with M2 badge prominently displayed and a coupe silhouette extending from bonnet to rear end. There is also the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line that enhances its sporty appeal. At the rear, an M spoiler with exhaust system with four tail pipes in black chrome are noted.

In terms of features, the BMW M2 Competition gets iDrive controller, Radio BMW Professional and 7 speakers along with a 205 watt Hi-Fi speaker system. Its interiors are also noted with a 16.5cm color display with AM/FM Radio, park distance control system at the front and rear along with a rear view camera. Offered with a range of upholstery combinations, the BMW M2 Competition gets Leather Dakota Black with contrasting stitching accents in black or blue and Leather Dakota Black with orange or black contrasting stitching.

The multi function steering wheel is also optimized for better performance allowing the driver to use M Drive M1 and M2 buttons for desired settings. In terms of safety, the BMW M2 Competition offers an intelligent safety package with Active M Differential, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including M Dynamic mode and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).

BMW M2 Competition gets its power via a 3.0 liter, 6 cylinder, in-line, petrol engine offering 410 hp power at 6,250 rpm and 550 Nm torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 4.2 seconds while top speed is at 250 kmph. The engine is mated to a 7 speed M dual clutch transmission with Drivelogic which allows for quicker gear changes without loss of traction while the shift paddles on steering wheel offers better control.

With the M2 Competition at INR 79,90,000, it is the most affordable M car in the country and finds no competition expect from the Mercedes AMG CLA 45 and the Porsche 718 Cayman.
