Having made its official presence felt at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, BMW M4 GTS concept will go on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015. A production version can be expected to enter showrooms sometime in Spring 2016.
BMW M4 GTS concept will see some notable enhancements which include a lighter body and performance technology while it will receive a water injection system for its twin turbocharged 3.0 liter straight six engine. It gets a carbon fiber reinforced plastic bonnet, LED tail lamps, an adjustable front splitter and larger rear spoiler.
Sitting on a re-worked chassis, the BMW M4 GTS concept receives 19”/20” lightweight forged alloy wheels while wider air intake ensure airflow optimization while at the same time reducing front axle lift. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph can be achieved in 4.3 seconds while top speed stands at 250 kmph.
On board technologies set to make their way on to production model will include innovative water injection system that has proved its performance where output and torque is concerned on the BMW M4 MotoGP Safety Car. OLED rear lights will give the model a new look during night driving while tyre sizes are mixed and include 9.5 J x 19 (front) and 10.5 J x 20 (rear). Wheels are fitted with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres (265/35 R19 front, 285/30 R20 rear).
BMW M4 GTS concept carries on the tradition of BMW M3 special models which is evident in BMW M3 Evolution (1988), BMW M3 Sport Evolution (1990), BMW M3 GT (1995), BMW M3 CSL (2003), BMW M3 GTS (2010) and BMW M3 CRT (2011).
