BMW have formally introduced their upcoming M6 Gran Coupe, which is scheduled to go on sale from May 2013. This sporty looking sedan will be priced from €128,000 (Rs 90.89 lakhs) for base model. North American sales will commence in summer of 2013 with prices expected at around $110,000. M6 Gran Coupe will resemble its existing Coupe and Convertible counterparts in its mechanics and aesthetic appeal though it will weigh more and will have two extra doors with a 113mm longer wheelbase.
Where engine details are concerned, the M6 will have an S63Tu 4.4 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine with 553hp power between 6000 to 7000 rpm and 680 Nm torque between 1500 to 5750 rpm. The upcoming vehicle will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds and will reach a top speed of 250 kmph which if fitted with an optional M Driver’s Package will hit the 305 kmph mark. This vehicle has an average fuel consumption of 9.9 liters per 100km and 232 g/km of CO2 emissions.
A host of safety features are to be incorporated into the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe which will include Auto Start/Stop function, Low Speed Assistance and Launch Control function. The four door sports coupe will ride on 20” M light alloy wheels and will be fitted with M Carbon ceramic brakes.
