BMW, the German based auto manufacturer is planning to develop a supercharged model of the 7-series. This car will be rolled out into the market in 2015. Though the company hasn’t yet disclosed its plans, rumors have it that this supercharged car model will get and extensive facelift and will be part of the new generation of luxury cars.
This model will be named BMW 770i and will be powered by a 4.0 litre twin turbo V-8 engine capable of producing a maximum output of about 475 hp and torque of 650 Nm. When compared to the Mercedes Benz AMG it is seen that overall power is quite low, however, efforts are being made to incorporate lightweight materials like aluminum.
Emphasis will not be on speed but engineers have planned to accentuate the aerodynamic aspect of this car. The trunk, engine hood and roof will be designed using lightweight carbon fiber. The BMW 770i is designed to have carbon ceramic disc brakes, superior exhaust system consisting of four pipes and 20 –inch alloy wheels. As lightweight materials will be used for manufacturing the BMW770i, this model will be lighter by about 200kg as compared to the current BMW 7 series.
