BMW MINI to launch new Mini variants every year from next year till 2016

BMW’s iconic British car marquee, MINI will be launching new Mini variants every year from 2013 to 2016. BMW is planning on taking MINI brand to the next level by marketing aggressively. BMW Mini is already available in over 100 countries around the globe and more are to be added this year. Demand for Mini cars is higher than ever and analysts predict that demand will continue to rise over the next few years.

First of the new MINI variants to be launched in 2013, will be Mini Paceman, concept of which was displayed at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Mini Paceman Concept which was on display, had the most powerful MINI engine, JCW 1.6L turbocharged generating 211 bhp and 260 Nm torque. Mini will market Paceman as a Sports Activity Coupe. Production of Paceman is expected to commence later this year.

By 2014 end, a longer, 5 door Mini will be launched. As of now this Mini variant does not carry a name and is codenamed F54. This variant of BMW Mini will be launched in a way that it competes directly with Mercedes A Class and Audi A1. In the same year, BMW plans on launching a new variant of MINI Clubman which will have 4 doors and will also be longer by 10 inches. New Mini Clubman will be based on the same platform as that of the F54.

2015 will see the launch an even longer MINI variant which will be built on the Mini sedan platform. This Mini car is codenamed F58 and will go by the name of Mini Sportvan. Mini will be marketing Sportvan as a people carrier. Finally in 2016, BMW will launch the first ever sedan variant of Mini.
