BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 Concept celebrates 100 years of the German brand. This new concept is a self-balancing bike that allows the rider to stay on and never fall off. It is fitted with a camera based sensor technology that makes it essentially an anti-crash motorcycle.
An onboard visor has a set of spectacles that are controlled through eye movements through which riders can interact with the bike while it spans the rider’s total field of vision. The concept also sports a self-balancing system with self-balancing wheels designed to stay upright even at a complete stop, thus allowing the rider to ride even without a helmet.
Boasting of zero carbon emissions, BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 Concept is made of carbon fiber. The framework is flexible that allows the bike to change shape during turning. Its makeup includes no joints or bearings while it is also devoid of swingarm or suspension units. The Vision Next Concept sits on tyres that form the suspension while it sports variable tread so as to adjust to changing conditions while maintaining superlative grip to the road.
Though BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 Concept is being showcased exclusively as a concept, BMW wishes to commercialize fully autonomous vehicles by 2021 for which it is working in collaboration with Intel and Mobileye.
