Bridgestone India extends support to Pune Police to promote road safety

In a bid to reduce road accidents and impart safe driving tools and techniques, leading tyre and rubber company, Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd., have formed an alliance with the Police of Pune.

Mr. Ajay Sevekari, Director – HR & Administration, Purchase, Logistics and IT, Bridgestone India Pvt. Ltd. with Mr. Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune City Police.

Road Safety Awareness in Pune, India’ has seen Bridgestone supply traffic safety crash barricades, reflective jackets and batons to the police in Pune. An event organised by Bridgestone near Pune Airport where these items were distributed.

The event was attended by Swapana Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Khadaki Division, Suresh Kumar Vajpayee-CISF, George Varghese, Chief Security Officer-Airport, Sanjay Kurundkar, Sr. Police Inspector and Vittal Darekar, Police Inspector Crime, Milan Harchekar from Vimantal Police station. Traffic safety gear was handed over by Bridgestone to Mr. Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Through this activity, Bridgestone wishes to promote a sense of safe driving among the people of Pune and help the city Police to create awareness and instill road sense among those on the road which will ultimately lead to lower number of fatalities.

Bridgestone India has continually been striving for better road sense and safer driving awareness. The company had undertaken many such initiatives to promote road safety consciousness since 2009 and has helped the traffic police in many ways to lessen human casualties and road mishaps.

In other news, Bridgestone Group has announced to donate Rs 29 lakhs to Nepal Earthquake relief operations. This amount has been donated via Japanese Red Cross and Singaporre Red Cross.
