Road bumps in India come in all sizes and patterns. You will hardly find any two road bumps in India which have same dimensions. This makes it difficult to calculate how one should tackle a road bump while driving a car in India. Most of us try slowing down our vehicle while crossing the bump, but even then you don’t have a guarantee that your car’s belly won’t be scratched.
Now imagine that you have a supercool supercar or sportscar in which you are cruising at a steady pace, but on an Indian road. Suddenly, out of nowhere, you get to see a speedbreaker/bump ahead, which will definitely kill the front bumper and underbody of your supercar (as they have superlow ground clearance), if you plan to take your supercar across that bump.
But there is a way around. You will see in the YouTube video here, how a Bugatti Veyron sportscar tackles a road bump in India. According to the uploader of this YouTube video who goes by the useid – karthikbiker99, “The person driving the car is Bugatti’s official test driver Pierre Henri Raphanel. He was in India with the Veyron which was brought from France to give the people test driving the Veyron inputs about driving this beast.”
Bugatti Veyron has a ground clearance in the range of 6.4 cms to 12.4 cms, which is not good enough for Indian roads. Most of the road bumps will definitely destroy underbody of Bugatti Veyron. But after seeing this video, we know there is hope for Bugatti Veyron in India. Bugatti Veyron is available in India at a price of more than Rs 16 crores (US $3.2 million).
