Dudinka, central Siberia was frozen solid after water pipelines burst. Water poured onto the streets to immediately freeze while residents found their town frozen into waist high massive block of ice. Trucks and cars in the city were stuck in these blocks of ice, and are likely to remain so as temperatures hover around -40C.
Situated in the middle of Siberia and bordering the Arctic Ocean, the town of Dudinka has a total of 22,000 residents. Hot water is supplied to these residents through pipelines from a power plant that is centrally heated. With trucks and cars encased in solid ice, residents have shared images on Russian social media some pictures even showing cars completely submerged under the blocks of ice. It is not sure how these cars can be recovered and it may even be till summer in June that they will remain in this condition, waiting for the sun to completely melt down the ice.
