Cartist Automobile Art Festival inaugurated in Jaipur
A week long Cartist Automobile Art Festival is being held at Narain Niwas, Jaipur. It is a residential art workshop which sees 200 budding artists from across the country take part in various workshops and activities related to automobiles.
There will also be special sessions and interaction with well known artists from India. On the 22nd April, all these works will be exhibited in the garden of World Trade Center, Jaipur.
Cartist Automobile Art Festival is an initiative of Jaipur based Himanshu Jangid, a vintage car restorer for royalties. The festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. It comprises of a total of 10 workshops which are being held that include Calligraphy, Clay Modelling, Art Therapy, Miniature, Caricature, Photography, Street Art, Water Colour, Print and Mono Prints. Cars rule the show where artists are depicting and displaying automobile art be it from funky cars to vintage scooters.
Works by various artists drew the attention of viewers at the art festival. It was the bronze and iron works of artist Hansraj Kumawat that stole the show. He has also done the welding on his own to create this work of art. Vasundhara Raje also commented on the work of Saloni Soni who had decorated a vintage scooter with colorful stones and shells.
Atul Dodiya’s works titled ‘A Peek into Contemporary Art World’ also stood out at the show while he shared a rather interesting aspect on influence with the audience which states “It’s good to get Influenced, if you don’t get influenced then there is something wrong with you.” Dodiya is a noted artist and painter. He is the recipient of Raza Award in 2008 and Sotheby’s Awards in 1999, Sanskriti Award 1995 besides other recognition for his works.
