Charley Boorman, Gul Panag and Sundeep Gajjar in Freedom Riders Asia (India leg) from Shell Advance and Star Sports
May 2013 will see a new turbo injected travel series called “Freedom Riders Asia’. This program that brings together man and machine is being sponsored by Shell Advance and will be telecast on the STAR Sports channel. Hosted by Charley Boorman, a mutifaceted man, and biker, the program will take viewers through a road trip over six countries and will be spread through six episodes.
Freedom Riders Asia will be working closely with Shell while the program itself has been developed by STAR Sports. Boorman is seen teaming up with local bikers from across Asian cultures in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Vietnam and Thailand in each of the six episodes. These road trip will showcase the sights and sounds of these countries as the bikes traverse on one single tank of petrol.
In India, Boorman will be seen riding with Gul Panag and Sundeep Gajjar (MotoGrapher Sunny), both avid bikers in the country. Besides being telecast on STAR Sports, Freedom Riders Asia will also be shown on other channels such as FOX, National geographic and FX. Sundeep Gajjar was seen on a Ducati Multistrada, and Charley sat atop a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 on their ride through Munnar. A press conference has been scheduled this evening at Kochi. Her twitter update this morning read ‘has arrived in Kochi to join Freedom Riders Asai [sic] & @charleyboorman.’
