Chevrolet Beat Active made its global debut as a concept at the 2016 Delhi Auto. The car has now been launched in the US, where it is known as the Spark Active (Beat is sold in many countries as the Spark, which is not the same as India-spec Spark).
Similar in a number of aspects to the new Chevrolet Beat hatchback, which had its official premiere at the 2015 Seoul Motor Show in April last year, the new Chevrolet Beat Active gets added plastic cladding on bumper, roof rails, projector headlights with LED DRL, circular LED foglights, faux aluminium skid plate, black piano plastic on the grille and body coloured ORVM.
In the US, the new Beat Active is on offer in two variants, one with manual transmission the other with automatic transmission. The former is priced at $16,945 (INR 11.48 lakh) while the latter is priced at $18,045 (INR 12.28 lakh). Both variants are powered by EcoTec 1.4 liter petrol engine (India-spec Beat and Beat Active will get a 1.0 liter petrol engine based on the 1.4 liter EcoTec).
Some of the features of the new Beat Active are – Active nameplate, round fog lamps, contrasting wheelhouse mouldings, 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, rear camera with display, cruise control, remote keyless entry, steering mounted controls, and much more.
“The new Spark ACTIV is all about adventurous fun and style,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet director of Car and Crossover Marketing. “It has an attitude, while still offering the sophisticated, efficient and connected driving experience customers have come to love.”
