General Motors’ vision for an affordable, long-range all-electric vehicle, Chevrolet Bolt EV, looks just as attractive as a BMW i3, but to be easier on the pocket by around $10,000 (Rs. 6.25 lakhs) as starting price is targeted at around $30,000 (Rs. 18.75 lakhs).
Chevrolet Bolt EV concept is made of ultra-lightweight materials like carbon fibre, aluminum, magnesium, and uses vented rear fenders for better aerodynamics. The car has four individual seats, flat floor board, large Day Light Opening (DLO) and light colour scheme for comfortable and pleasant cabin aura.
GM has not disclosed specifications of the hatchback’s powertrain, but they mentioned it will offer more than 200 miles (322 km) of full-charge range. The company has also said drivers will have the option of selecting from a convenient variety of operating modes each of which will have its own accelerator pedal mapping, suspension tuning, vehicle ride height and the like. Chevy Bolt will also have the luxury of DC fast charging.
